WALKING IN MURCIA

The hills and mountains around Murcia in the Costa Calida contain some beautiful walks. The Sierra de Espuna National Park is situated a little way inland and is host to lots of outdoor activities including walking, mountain biking, rock climbing and horse riding. The Sierra de Espuna rises to over 5,200 feet and is almost all forested. It is great to explore in summer when the weather is a bit cooler in the mountains.

Footpaths walk across ridges, through forests and give panaromic views over the surrounding area.

The new Costa Calida walking guide has a selection of walks in the mountains and along the coast. There is plenty of walking in the area for an extended stay or for returning visits.

Some of the walks can be extended or reduced to allow for different walking abilities and time.
